Estimator-Project Manager

Job Description

  • General Construction firm seeking to fill position in New Jersey office.
  • Candidate must have experience in Commercial, Industrial, Federal, Civil and Building Projects as a prime contractor with a geographic coverage of the Mid – Atlantic States.
  • Must be organized and possess skills to be able to evaluate, compile and complete proposals from inception to submission as well as the possibility of managing the project if awarded to completion. Computer literate a must and comfortable to handle required bid walk throughs as well. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop subcontractor and vendor list based on project requirements.
  • Develop scope of work and distribute bid documents for estimating purposes.
  • Maintain subcontractor, vendor communication during bid process
  • Able to properly descope a subcontractor for buyout process and prepare subcontract agreements (scope of work) accordingly. 
  • Prepare and maintain shop drawing submissions (review/approve submittals before sending to Architect/Engineer). 
  • Insure compliance with contract documents
  • Issue Construction Project Schedules and update the schedules as needed during the duration of project. 
  • Draft/Track field RFI’s and Change Orders 
  • Able to stay organized with all documents/drawings to easily transfer from the estimating phase to award phase with a project.  Includes using Company’s FTP to upload most current plans for proper document control.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating/project management experience on projects from $100K to $10M.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills

Compensation

Field Project Manager/Superintendent

Job Description

Construction Company looking for an individual with the ability to Field Manage commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Insure compliance with contract documents
  • Attend project meetings
  • Prepare, track and distribute RFI’s and Submittals
  • Knowledge to read drawings and track changes from any revisions/addendums
  • Aiding in the buy-out process
  • Assist in subcontractor coordination
  • Issue/Manage project schedules using MS Project
  • Monitoring long-lead items, interacting with consultants, clients and contractors (must be good on follow up process)
  • Tracking change order requests and updating project cost controls to ensure we are getting cost/change events billed to Client in a timely matter.
  • Manage communications with the office support staff, computer savvy, able to articulate a professional email/letter to Clients.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience. Must have knowledge of site work, concrete, mechanical, electrical, scheduling and budgeting
  • Have the ability to manage onsite crew, including sub-contractors
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects and Outlook
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Familiar with OSHA safety standards
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Solid work history
  • Must be able and willing to travel on occasion
